Guest Bedroom

The guest bedroom is complete (well minus a few little details)!

Here is the BEFORE pic - the color was a Harley Davidson orange - too much for all four walls of a small room!

AFTER...yes the bed is in the closet - we had to get creative - it was the only way it fit into the room!

the other direction - BEFORE

AFTER

Here was our to do list for the room...

- new carpet
- new baseboards and casings
- install new blinds
- paint
- ORB brass hardware
- hang curtains
- make headboard
- make shelf for over the bed
- make side tables to fit inside of closet
- new light fixture and inside closet lights needed
- figure out storage situation
- decorate!

we fixed the storage situation by putting our previously redone dresser in the room
we found the chair at a local thrift shop and painted it lime green

Matt made me the shelf above the bed as well as the headboard

we got little touch lights for inside the closet
Matt custom made the side tables to fit perfectly inside the closet

I have had this mirror since my university days - I read somewhere that every guest room needs a mirror - something about your guests needing to know what they look like before they leave their room - anyway...I spray painted it white and it works perfectly for the room!

The Process...

Painting

Adding stripes to inside of the closet

We bought the door at a Restore but it lacked character

Matt added some beautiful character to it!

when I left him he was playing on the quilt - don't know how he got over to the hoops

this guy - always helping me with my crafting!

Another room done - the Entrance Hallway is next...
