Vancouver Island

We just got back from a wonderful long weekend on Vancouver Island with the Morgan side of the family - it was such a treat! We had originally thought that it was going to be all the Morgan's sans Nathan, but low and behold we had a surprise waiting for us when we picked up Rebecca from the Vancouver airport - Nathan was there too!!! What a great surprise!

Heading over to meet mom and dad on the island - lunch on the ferry on a sunny day!
the view - not a cloud in the sky:)
On Sat night when we arrived we explored the resort a little and then decided to take a quite kayak trip before supper.

VICTORY - this was Becca's first kayak experience - I guess it felt this good to have made it back to the shore:)
traditional Morgan supper shot (always minus the photographer!)
On Sunday we enjoyed another day of sunshine and headed out on a few short hikes to see some beautiful BC waterfalls.

We ended our days playing different family games - another Morgan tradition!
There was also a lot of lounging, reading and exploring the beach (the beach that we stayed at had more sand dollars than I have ever seen in my life - hundreds and hundreds of them) that went on. The boys went caving one day - sorry no picture evidence. It was such a treat to see family and be able to spend quality time together - we are blessed!

Athletic Banquet 2012

Another year has gone by and thus another Athletic Banquet at CBC has come and gone. This was a little bit of a different year for the banquet as Matt was playing the role as a coach, player and Assistant Athletic Director. It was a nice evening and so fun for me to be able to see the impact Matt is having on the athletes and the program!

Men's CCAA Volleyball Nationals

CBC hosted the CCAA Men's Volleyball Nationals this year - tournament planning was a big part of Matt's job this year. So not only did he help organize and plan the weekend he also got to be a player in the tournament. It was a great tournament - VERY well run!!! There was nothing by positive comments!

CBC fought hard and ended up in fourth place in the country - not too bad if you ask me:)

(The pictures in this post were taken by the VERY talented Jordan Nielson - there are more photo's on the CCAA 2012 National Championship website)

CBC's first game of the tournament. The gym looked great - the floor was brought in all the way from Calgary.

Matt played amazing!!! He will sure miss playing volleyball at this level, but he can be very proud of the 3.5 years he played as a Bearcat!

Matt received a second team allstar for his performance at Nationals!
The Bearcats didn't win a Gold Medal - but the character of their team shone through the weekend and they received, for the second year in a row, the fair play award - aka the sportsmanship award!!!
It was a great weekend and Matt has sooo much to be proud of!

Sea of Red

For CBC's first game of nationals the fans wanted to represent and be a "Sea of Red." Turns out the only Bearcat items I own are mostly blue with a little red on them so I decided I would do some crafting with some of Matt's old shirts!

Just nipping and tucking a little here and a little there.
The finished product - it actually turned out a little too small - I nicked and tucked a little too much:)
Here we are - apart of the sea! It was great having Matt's family (sorry for my lack of pics - Dan & Hailey were here too!) out for the weekend to cheer on Matt and the team!

Sweet Baby Lily

A good friend from work had her baby a couple of weeks ago - a sweet baby girl named Lily. On Wednesday night I hosted a shower at our condo so that we could shower Lily and her mama with gifts!

The decor...Lily - hung on a clothes line and then as the gifts are opened you can hang more items on the line.
Piggy Bank 'guestbook' - everyone got to sign it and then Lily gets to keep it!
Bunting and pink lilies to decorate above the fireplace
Lily posing in front of her personalized sign
Linden was the only boy allowed at the party:)
We ate well!!!
and played some fun games
and then we watched Ev & Lily get showered with gifts!!!

a talented friend of mine made my gift for Lily

love this little girl...have loved watching her mommy grow and anticipate the arrival of a little one...I am now so excited to watch Lily grow and get to be apart of her 'village'

Tax Time!

Ahhhh the beginning of March means one fantastic thing....it's TAX TIME!!! I know I'm a little strange, but I just love filling in those blanks and organizing all the paper work and then the final treat....knowing what your tax return is for the year!

I have a little tradition...every year I like to get a Tim Horton's roll up the rim French Vanilla - I sit at my kitchen table and I plow through both Matt and my taxes in one fun filled afternoon. This year for a little treat Matt moved the kitchen table in front of our big window so I could set up my office and have a view:)
Just a side note...how pretty are these tulips?! Pink with a slight purple ring inside of them!
