A Wedding and An Anniversary!

This past Saturday we had the priviledge of celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary by attending a beautiful wedding of a wonderful couple!

Jason & Vanessa's wedding was a lovely thing to be apart of - they very clearly love the Lord with the entire beings and also love each other - they will be a couple that will do great things!  What a priviledge it was to share in their big day with them!

In between the wedding and reception we had a little task to perform...

we had to go to our local candy store :)  Matt always gives me an anniversary gift based on the year we are celebrating.  For 6 years of marriage the two options were iron or candy soooo being that we are being careful with our spending...candy it was!!!

We had fun picking out our favorite treats - we went home after the wedding and watched our wedding video, looked through our wedding album and ATE candy!  It was a great day - blessed with 6 years of marriage with this man and love that we got one sweet little man out of the deal - excited for the years to come!

As of late...

Every couple of weeks I do an iphone picture dump onto our computer - here are some of our pictures from the last few weeks...

taking a morning stroll beside the river

helping dad install new lattice on the deck

at our sweet babysitters - they went grocery shopping and took advantage of the free cookie situation :)

my little explorer

our library has huge stuffed animals in the kids section - Sully thinks it's awesome!

going for a walk with dad - normally this means hiking up the mountain to the 7-11 for a slurpee

Matt got braces and the best part is you can't even tell...braces have come a long way!

while I was working last weekend Matt started our backyard landscaping project - Sully was there to help out wherever needed

love that he has the gloves on and everything

moving rocks

Sully loves animals but his favorite ones are the ones that don't move - he loves this little guy at Old Navy :)

we had a special visit from Matt's cousins - they were doing an across Western Canada road trip visiting family members along the way - so fun!

Matt went golfing, last week, for the first time this year - it poured rain but they still had a great time!

Sully and I got together with friends for a play date last week.  Our little group just keeps expanding - the babies just keep coming - it's the best!

Happy 30th Tricia!

Tricia and I have been friends forever - literally for our forever!  Our moms worked together, I believe, since the time we were babies - we have pictures together before I even have memories.  And now 30 years later we are still friends, have both ended up living in Abbotsford and we continue to do life together - how cool is that?!  This past Tuesday was Trish's 30th Birthday!!!  We were able share supper with her - it was a hot day so we ate out on the deck!

we have a similar picture of Sully and Trish from last year...

2 traditions from Trish's childhood Birthday's were sidewalk chalk and icecream cake - we didn't play with sidewalk church but we did pull out the ice cream cake :)

Sully helped blow out the candles

Crazy to think how much life I have lived with Tricia. We have known each other for close to 30 years.  We went to Elementary, Jr. High & High School together.  We spent 6 years together in church youth group.  Have travelled on numerous family vacations and missions trips trips together through at least 5 different countries.  She was a bridesmaid in our wedding and at the hospital the night Sully was born.  She is really like family to us!
Happy Birthday Trishy - we love you so much and are so happy that you live in Abbotsford and we get to continue to live life with you!!!

Mother's Day

I worked a dayshift on Mother's Day, but that didn't stop the men in my life from giving me such a sweet day!

I woke up to this little display in my kitchen :)

and then they showed up at the hospital for a lunch date looking like this...the cutest twinsies I have ever seen!!!

I love being a mother to this little man!

I am so blessed by this boy - who made me a mommy
and so blessed by this man who is the best husband and dad a woman could ask for....I mean matching outfits and Mother's Day crafts?!  AMAZING!!!

and to my mom and mother in law - I am SO GRATEFUL for all that they have done and continue to do - what amazing examples they are to me of what a mother should look like - love you both so much!

Baby London

My good friend Ev asked if I would come over and make some pillows with her for her daughters room.  This is us a week ago Wednesday - Ev is 9 months pregnant in this picture AND in early labor - she just didn't know it at the time.  Eight hours later she was holding her sweet new baby in her arms!

Welcome sweet Baby London - it is so good to finally meet you!

you can't tell in this picture but Sully was actually very enthralled with London

such sweet friends and man oh man do we make cute babies :)

Zip line in Whistler

Trish and I are both turning 30 this year and we both have a little list that we want to accomplish before we hit that milestone.  We checked another item off our list this past Saturday - Zip lining through the mountains and forest of Whistler!

Heading out early to make the trek up to Whistler

all suited up in our "seat" harness

we were EXCITED!

us with our fellow zip liners

waiting our turn...

this picture kind of shows what we were doing - we are standing on one side of a mountain and then there is a wonderful valley and then another mountain - we zip lined from the one mountain to another

we trusted our life with this little piece of metal

hiking to our next jump

Trish and I at the end of our second jump - it is Canada's longest zip line - I believe it is 1.3km long!

it was a great day spent with a great friend - 30 is looking better and better :)
