April Phone Dump

Outdoor Space

The arrival of spring brought on the need to spruce up our outdoor space.  We spend a lot of time on our patio in the spring and summer and wanted to create a cozy space to hang out in.  

We got this coffee table as a wedding gift - it has been well used/loved.  It has lived with us in 4 different houses and spent a year in storage well we were away in Uganda.  Needless to say it needed some sprucing up, and we needed some color in the backyard, so Matt stripped and painted it a wonderfully bright shade of yellow :)

Let's Go On A Date - April!

Our date for this month included the boys.  Neither Matt nor I had ever been to Campell Valley Park, but had heard good things about it.  It's a human & horse park with tons of walking trails and paths that weave through the forest as well as some wetland area.  

We went for a lovely walk - BC spring is so very vibrant and full of color!

Sir Branson - 3 months!

This big guy is 3 months today!  Here is a little update from his baby book.

Weight - 16 lbs
Height - 24 inches

Feeding - You are feeding between 5-6 times a day with only one of those feeds being at night - yippee!!!

Sleeping - You are slowly learning that sleep is good for you!  You are having three naps a day normally, two long ones and one short one.  We are able to put you down awake for your naps and then sing to you and pat your little bum and you will fall asleep.  Sometimes if you wake before you should we go in a pat your bum and you go back to sleep.  Since you were 10 weeks old you have been sleeping 12 hours at night minus one quick 20 min feed (sometime between 3:30 am - 5:30am) - this has been WONDERFUL!!! One night you even went 11 hours in between feeds.  We have had some issues the past couple of weeks with you being very gassy at bedtime and then you don't want to go to sleep. We hope to get this under control soon, but are thankful that once you are asleep that you sleep so well! 

Milestones - You are becoming more and more interactive and love to have people pay attention to you and talk to you.  You especially like it when your big brother plays with you.  You are making more and more sounds.  You track things well and are noticing things at farther distances than you did before.  You are always moving and love to kick away in both your bouncy seat and the tub.  You have enjoyed being able to sit up in your bumbo seat for short periods of time.  

Likes - Bath time, tummy time, eating, long naps, watching people, your playmat

Dislikes - Gas, being put to bed at nightime 

Fun Times - You have had a lot of fun this past month!  You met your Auntie Becca, Uncle Nathan & Caitlin for the first time - went to Capilano Suspension Bridge - hiked Bridal falls & Teapot Hill - celebrated your first Easter - had a visit from your Grams & Gramps and participated in your first 5K fun run (the Bearcat Prowl)!

We love your gummy smiles - happy 3 months little B!

Sully's 1st Visit to the Dentist

In the past month Sully has had his first eye appointment as well as his first visit to the dentist.  He rocked both appointments (for which we are thankful)!

Puppies!

A friend of mine was babysitting a litter of the cutest puppies!!!  There were 11 cuties in total.  The boys and I stopped in to see them last week.  Sully was soo excited, he had been talking about the puppies ever since I showed him a picture of them.  When we got there he held one and was having a nice time until one wanted to play with him- Sully did not want to play - after that Sully spent the rest of the time there watching the puppies from the safety of the deck :)

Bearcat Prowl

CBC Athletics hosted it's very first BearCat Prowl this year!  It was a 5K fun run in the dark with glow sticks lighting the way of the path and adorning everyone.  It was GREAT fun!  Matt's parents were still out for the event and were able to participate with us.
