American Thanksgiving

Auntie Becca, for her ninth year in a row, made the trek up for American Thanksgiving!

Our festivities were delayed a day as Canadians' don't get the day off work so Friday we Black Friday shopped...

and that evening we feasted!

Such a treat to have mom and dad in the same town now - what a special Thanksgiving indeed!

as per tradition, after our feast the Christmas season begins in our house and that means...CHRISTMAS JAMMIES!!!!

be still my heart....

and the following morning...cinnamon buns!
that afternoon we put up our tree and hung the outdoor lights.

On the Monday we went over to mom and dads for supper and watched the Thanksgiving Day parade that they had tapped - the boys were impressed!

Always fun to share time and traditions with family!

Whistler Getaway

Just over a week ago Matt and I were able to get away for the weekend to Whistler...sans kids...it was so good to be away - just the two of us - restful and relaxing - quiet :)

Our reason for the trip was to attend a Family Life Marriage Conference, but since we were going we decided to go a day early and have a little date day!

Friends of ours offered us a place to stay for the night, their friends cabin, but actually it was a million dollar chalet, complete with a baby grand piano!  Melissa and Tyrel spoiled us and it was a divine way to start our getaway.

For our date, Matt and I were able to take a helicopter ride over the mountains and then land on a glacier and walk around.  It was as magical as it sounds!!!

The weather was perfect and the view stunning!  We highly recommend this experience!

That evening we headed out to supper with friends

and on our way home took a picture with the rings :)

The marriage conference was held at the Fairmount Chateau Whistler - Matt and I aren't use to such fancy digs, but we took full advantage of all the fanciness!  We pretty much lived in our robes and slippers!

In the mornings we ordered room service from the KIDS menu (cause a three egg omelette should NOT cost $33)!

We enjoyed the hot pools!

In between sessions at the conference we had time to explore Whistler and we found ALL the RCMP's and of course took pictures for the boys who are currently obsessed with them!

We don't have any pictures of the marriage conference, but it was VERY good!  We would HIGHLY recommend it.

Beautiful BC...our view driving home to our babies after a wonderful weekend away!
