Waiting for spring....

we have had some spring like days but there seems to be no consistency - today is cold again and it's suppose to snow by the end of the week.

the trees are confused - they want to blossom but I think they are waiting for some heat

Matt brought these home today - he's getting ready for summer:)

Athletic Awards Banquet

Matt had his annual Athletics Award Banquet this past Friday night.  It was a good night, with great food consumed and many awards given out.

Matt's volleyball team.
Matt and Phil thanked their team and coaches for a great year.
Matt did WELL at the awards banquet!!!  He was team MVP and won many awards for his academics, leadership and athletic skill!  Matt also won the prestigious Presidents Award - given to the top male athletic.

We got into the car after the evening (and after Matt had won award after award) - I asked Matt how he felt and he said 'humbled.'  What a good man!

Matt didn't want to take this picture but I told him it would be important for our mom's to see.
I am VERY proud of my husband!!!

Earth Hour

Sat. night at 8:30pm was Earth Hour - everyone was suppose to turn off all power in their homes - below is a picture of Matt and I celebrating Earth Hour.

Oregon

This past weekend we made a little trip down to Oregon.  We stayed with Rebecca on Friday and Saturday night - so nice to spend time with her!

Spring is coming...the daffodils were in full bloom in Oregon - they are not yet up in Abby.
Rebecca and I purged her closet - I LOVE to purge - Becca does not - she did VERY WELL though - 4 garbage bags full of clothes and one box full of shoes:)
We took this picture because at that VERY same moment the weather at home was snowy!!!  Makes us happy to live on the west coast!
We went out to dinner to BJ's for dinner - Matt and I found our new favorite pizza place.  We also had pizookie for dessert - mmmm mmmm good!

Sunday afternoon we went and saw WICKED in Portland - it was FANTASTIC!!!!!  A MUST see Broadway musical!

Another great weekend - thanks Becca for your hospitality!

Green Sock Half Marathon

I ran my first half marathon on Saturday.  It was plus 3 and pouring ran for the entire 22km - oh the memories!
I was SOAKED to my core!
I hot bath never felt so good...my muscles still seem to be rebelling against me!
The evening following the race Morgan and Nikki came over for steak and games.  Check out the size of these steaks - there was hardly room on the plate for any other food.
The Olivers introduced us to a new game - it was great - a little confusing at first, but once you get it - very fun!
Love this guy - he is such an encouragement to me - he was out cheering me on in plus 3 and pouring rain - that's dedication!

The Lion King

Last weekend Matt and I headed down to Seattle to see our good friends Ruth and Thomas - it was GREAT to see them - even if only for a short time.  Such great people - we wish we could see them more!  While we were there we went to the theatre to see The Lion King!!!  FANTASTIC performance with amazing costumes and creativity! The Paramount Theatre in Seattle is beautiful - the picture does not do it justice.

Roomies together again....:)

Mom and Dad Kaminski came out to visit this weekend.  We had a GREAT time together!  On Friday afternoon we headed out to Vancouver to visit the aquarium.  It was a fun time!

Thanks for coming out to visit Mom and Dad - it was so nice to spend the weekend with you!

Our taxes are DONE!  It feels so nice:)

Nurses Reunion

Helen was in Canada last weekend so Sarah and I drove out to meet her at Granville Island.   We spent a lovely sunny afternoon together - it was a great time of catching up.  It's fun to see us all pursuing our individual interests - all as nurses!  Sarah is an expert ER nurse and Helen is taking her Master's in public health this fall!

A-Dawg!

Alise game to visit - :) - WE LOVE HER!  It was great to be able to catch up in real life and show her our home!  WE MISS YOU ALISE - come back soon!

Pedi's and Steamers

My good friend Correna was out visiting her family - we were able to spend a Sunday afternoon together - always a good time when we get together!  We had a steamer date and then got pedi's done - a perfect afternoon!

Valentine's Day

My special Valentine's treat from my wonderful husband.  I have been wanting an antique window for a LONG time and Matt found a beauty!
We celebrated our Valentine's a week before the 14th as Matt had volleyball that weekend and I worked.  We stayed in, had h'oeuvres and watched a romantic movie!
I spread the holiday cheer with some lovely heart cookies for my ladies at work and Matt's v-ball team.  Sugar cookies for Valentine's Day has become a tradition around here.
