Willow View Farms

We made our annual trip to a " fall farm."  These quaint little fall fun farms on easily in my top 10 favorite things about living in BC.  I look forward every year to apple picking and visiting the pumpkin field to pick out our prize pumpkins! Matt took a weekday off (due to working almost every weekend Sept.) so we beat the crowds and had an awesome time at the farm!

I had been out running errands and came home to pick up the boys and found my house full of plaid!  My husband knows what makes me happy :)

Loving the first day of fall - beautiful weather!

Branson was happy as could be chilling while we picked apples.

Sully got right to business!

and then we took advantage of Matt's height - there were SO many good ones at the very top of the trees!

Before we left we visited the barn - last year Sully was TERRIFIED of the animals - this year he LOVED them - feeding and talking to them - more excited with every new animal he saw!

The pumpkins are starting to arrive at the farms so we checked them out before we left.
and now excuse us - we have some apple pies to make!

Sir Branson - 8 Months!

8 Months - 20lbs - 27 inches

Feeding - You are an AWESOME eater!  You have loved most things we have given you.  You are up to 3 meals a day and normally 4 (sometimes 5) breastfeeds in 24 hours.  You love to feed yourself.  We give you whatever we are eating and you do well at eating it with your limited teeth.

Sleeping -  You did not have the best month in terms of sleep - dare I say you regressed!  You continue to nap well for the most part, taking two good naps most days.  But your nighttime sleep has made your mom & dad very tired!  You have had better sleeps the last couple of nights and we are hoping you are turning a corner and will SOON be sleeping through the night!

Milestones - You are sitting with confidence and are learning how to gracefully get down to your tummy without just falling down.  You are rolling/scooting around with determination and are quite good at getting where you want to go. You have just started to get up on all fours and rock.  You still only have two little teeth but your top two are coming very soon, we can see the tips of them.  You just started say "Da-Da" - you don't know what it means yet, but we think it's pretty cute!

Likes - eating, Daddy, Mommy, Sully, being tickled, being thrown in the air, your jolly jumper

Dislikes - nighttime sleeping!

Funtimes - You went on another airplane ride this past month to Nana & Papa's house!  You had a fun time playing with all of their cool, vintage toys and having special time with your Nana & Papa!

You really are at a fun age, interactive and not quite mobile - you are so happy during the day and bring such joy to our home!

Let's Go On A Date - September!

Our September date was to "complete the famous Circle Farm Tour."  For those of you who don't live in Abbotsford this a "tour" of over 20 different farms/wineries/greenhouses/restaurants that Abbotsford has to offer - full of all things unique, local or yummy.  We have visited about half of the locations on this list already.  Sept is a bit of a crazy month for Matt at work and with the boys and I being away for a week of it - it seems to really be flying by - so instead of completing the entire tour we opted to visit Lepp Farm Market (one of the locations on the tour) which is actually right around the corner from our house.  We drive by it often and always say we should stop and eat but never do - until this past Sunday on our Sept date!  And OH MY was it worth it!  It was DELICIOUS!!!!  All locally grown/sorced food.  The bread was made in house and AMAZING and the bacon may have been the best I've ever eaten!

CBC Alumni Weekend

This past weekend Matt hosted his CBC Alumni Weekend!  It was a great time with a good turnout of Alumni!  Matt was able to play in the volleyball alumni game so the boys and I went to cheer him on.

Sully really has grown up in these stands - he's teaching Branson the ways :)

#4 back on the court!

Sully thought it was pretty cool that his dad was playing (Branson was fairly indifferent)

Phil and Matt met playing volleyball in 2007 - they were both unmarried at the time - now 8 years later they are family men and probably a little more sore than they were 8 years ago after a game :)

Happy 6th Birthday Meg!

It's this sweet girls birthday today!!!  She is 6 years old!  She is beautiful and growing well!  We are thankful that we still are able to communicate with her through child sponsorship.  Happy Birthday Meg - sending our love from Canada!

Tamara & Arend get Married!

Matt's Woman's Basketball Coach got married last weekend in Kelowna.  We were all going to head to the wedding, but due to Branson's recent not sleeping at nighttime situation we decided that it was better for Matt and Sully to go to the wedding and Branson and I stay home.  Sully was pretty excited for a road trip with his dad!  Here are some of the pictures that Matt sent me throughout the day.

Waiting for the ceremony to start - it was a beautiful day for a wedding and looked like a gorgeous location to get married!

After the wedding - there are definitely some perks to your dad being the athletic director at a college - entire teams love you!  Here is the Woman's Basketball Team loving on Sully and Sully I'm sure was SOAKING it all up!

playing games between the wedding and the reception

these two are two peas in a pod!

 little ladies man :)

the reception

they drove home from Kelowna after the reception - Sully was so excited to get to "go to bed" in the car!
We are so excited about Tamara & Arend being married - they are a pretty amazing couple in so many ways!  we pray blessings over their married life!  I'm thankful that Matt and Sully could celebrate with them on their big day.  I'm also thankful for a dad that is willing to road trip with his 2.5 year old - such great memories were made!

A Week in the Dids!

The first week of September is one of Matt's craziest times of the year so when my parents offered to fly us to Alberta for a visit we happily said YES!

My first solo flight with both boys - they did great!

Sully enjoyed playing in the green grass after playing in our brown grass all summer

Branson playing with some vintage toys

one day my parents took Sully to the Calgary Zoo

he had a great time!

reading with Nana and working out the Papa

Mom spoiled us with great food!

one afternoon dad took me on a date to the movies while mom watched the boys - what a treat!

Thanks Nana & Papa for a great week away!
