A-Dawg Comes to Town!

This past weekend Alise came out to visit!  What a treat it was to have her out here!

Friday night we went to the bird park and went for a walk - truthfully we saw WAY more bugs than birds!

The next morning we headed downtown Abby for some coffee and a car show - we also stopped by the farmers market and did some vintage shopping.

Saturday evening we went PADDLEBOARDING!!!  It was lovely - the moon was high and the water was calm.

Sunday afternoon after naps we headed to Cascade Falls - they just built a new suspension bridge there that we checked out

The boys put their feet in the water - it was chilly!

Then on Monday we went to a local antique barn - there were a lot of "treasures" to be found :)

and we followed antiquing with a trip to a local diary - out of all the flavors Sully picked the bright blue bubblegum

fun at the diary!
What fun to have Alise visit - can't wait for the next visit when she will have a little baby of her own to bring with her!

Mayne Island

A couple of weekends ago we spent the weekend, with an awesome crew, on a beautiful island!  We vacationed with our small group from church - we started meeting together last Sept and have really enjoyed getting to know everyone! We are all at very similar stages of life and it's been fun to live life together - in all of the wonderful and craziness of having young families.

Here we are - 12 adults (3 of whom are currently pregnant) & 11 kids (4 and under!)

Mayne Island is CUTE - it's 21 km squared - located in the gulf islands - it's beautiful and feels a little bit magical :)

the road to the cabin - are you feeling the magic?

another part of the magic is the fact that you kind of feel like a disney character with the amount of wildlife around!  one night we were sitting on the deck and you could count 11 deer wandering around the yard!

our beach...magical right?!

we spent a lot of time treasure hunting down at the beach and also kayaking!

the porch was well used - many a meal was shared there and look at the ocean view - dining in style!

craft time - glitter tattoos for everyone!

on the Saturday that we were all there it was the Mayne Fall Fair - it was a perfect little country fair!  we started the fun with a parade!

waiting patiently for the festivities!

the parade was fantastic!  so many cute different floats and people in costume - it was very creative and everything you think of when you think of a country fair!

after the parade we visted the farmers market and checked out some of the displays which of course included a petting zoo

and tractors to ride on!

the local firemen and firetrucks were there for kids to see - Sully of course LOVED this!

one night after our boys were in bed we took advantage of having others around to "watch" our kids (aka listen to our monitor) and snuck away for a little walk just the two of us - bliss!

Our boys tend to wake up early when we are all sleeping in the same room so the last morning there we got the boys up and headed to the island's lighthouse.  It was a fun little early morning family adventure!

it was a peaceful, glorious morning!

the lighthouse

our little family!

back at the cabin :)  all the babies together from oldest to youngest

the two newest of the crew (soon there will be 3 more joining these littles!)

it was a crazy glorious weekend away - thankful for our small group!

Sir Branson - 7 Months

7 Months - 19lbs - 26 inches

Feeding - You have really caught on to eating!  You are still breastfeeding four times a day and once at night, but man oh man do you like to eat real food too!  You actually get quite vocal around meal time and get somewhat demanding of food :)  You eat mush food, but really prefer to feed yourself "solids" like a big boy.  Corn on the cob is one of your favorite things to chew on right now.

Sleeping - You are down to two naps a day which is nice (as long as they are good naps!).  You are in bed from 7pm to 7am.  You still like to have a feed somewhere in there between 3-5am, but you go back to bed well after.  You have done well with so much traveling over the summer and sleeping in many different locations.

Milestones - Nothing to exciting happened this past month.  You now have two little chompers - the bottom front teeth.  You have learned to eat and feed yourself well.  You like to drink from a big boy cup.  You can roll across the room in no time flat.  You are sitting up unassisted for long periods of time which you like - gives you a entire new perspective on the room!

Likes - your family - Daddy, Mommy, most of all Sully, eating, being tickled, your jolly jumper
Dislikes - teething, being patient for food

Funtimes - You went on two different island trips this past month. We went to Vancouver Island for a Morgan Family Vacation and Mayne Island for a small group vacation.  You liked the salty air and slept like a champ on both trips!

You continue to grow up into a fun little man - we love you Baby B!
