Gifts from a Friend.

A lovely couple sent us out a Christmas gift and included was a gift to bring to the NICU for the babies for Christmas - how great!

Starbucks Cups!

Someone special sent us a Starbucks gift card - we have been enjoying it and loving the Christmas cups!

Grouse Mountain

Matt and I have been waiting for weeks to head up to Grouse Mountain to have a fun filled Christmas day with horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, beautiful views, Santa's workshop etc etc...let's just say the advertising sure beat the actual event...ask me about it - I would love to share more!  Behind me is a picture of the skating rink - VERY SMALL and no one could skate on it - also if you look closely you can see an area of ice that is coned off because of melting - oh BC people trying to participate in Prairie activities:)
This tree was apart of the 'Parade of Trees' (note: not a parade AT ALL!) - Matt liked it - it was decorated by Home Depot.
The redeeming part of the day was that we got to see our very first reindeer!!!  Did you know that these animals can pull a sleigh at 50km/hr!?!  They were much shorter than I thought - this is Dancer in the picture below!

Tis the season for Christmas baking...and we have done our fair share...

Falling Gas Prices

The gas prices are finally moving in the right direction - I filled up last week for $17.78 on an empty tank - amazing!

Work Christmas!

Friday night was my work Christmas party....I had to work days and so we went after work.  Matthew was a great husband and came along too - it was a festive evening!

Time to Decorate!

Well December 1st was here and our tree had FINALLY made it safely to us so it was TIME TO DECORATE!!!
This is what the tree looked like to start with.
Here's Matt fluffing the branches.
We were EXCITED to be decorating out tree:)
The finished project...we had to move the furniture around to make everything fit!  It's a beautiful tree!
The real reason for the season is represented here...

Beautiful November

We have had a lovely, mild, fairly dry November.  Here is a beautiful sunset we had the other night.  We serve a creative God!

Cookie Exchange

I went to a cookie exchange this past weekend.  It was a good time with many cookies to be had, however in order to attend such an event you must for make your own cookies to bring.  I made no bake cookies (saved me hours of my life).  We had 12 people come to the event which meant I have to 10x the recipe and make 144 cookies!  I used 2kg of oatmeal in one baking session.

Old School Bowling

Good times at the local bowling had on Sat. night - it was like a cultural experience going to the alley!

American Thanksgiving

The Christmas season begins after American Thanksgiving is celebrated - we started off our season with watching 'Elf'!!!

PLAYER OF THE WEEK!

Matt was player of the week for all of BCCAA volleyball.  He is also second in the entire league for kills!!!  Here is a link to the article on the BCCAA website

VISITORS!!!

Correna came for a visit this past week.  Last weekend Nikki, Correna and I went down to the states to do a little Christmas shopping.  While we were there we pampered ourself a little bit!

Last night we headed down to Granville Island for a GREAT meal out (thanks Correna!) and than a night of comedy Improve at Granville Island.  We killed time before the show by taking pictures.

Trish was back to visit Abbotsford this past weekend.  She stayed the night on Friday night - it was so nice to see her and get a quick catch up on life!

Love Pillows!

I'm such a well loved wife!  I came home from work last week to this...

I had been talking about getting new red pillows for our apartment to add some life and color - Matt went out in the rain and picked up two very large bags full of red pillows and walked home with them - he is too good to me!  He also picked up a book I have been wanting to read - it called 'Crazy Love' looks fantastic!

Dr. Kaminski

Sometimes Matt likes to wear my clothes :)

Matt was a 'surgeon' for a Halloween party that he went to...the scrubs were a little tight/short but the costume worked!

out with the old in with the new

Matt and I had to do some letting go these past couple of weeks...I had to part with my WELL USED crocs...they will be missed - they served me well!  I have had them since I started nursing, the are THE BEST shoes to wear if you have to stand for 12 hours at a time.  The strap has been broken off of one foot and was being held together with masking tape...the tape was a breeding ground for things found on the floor of a hospital - it was time for new shoes.

Matt had to saw good bye to his trusty waterbottle, it was the bad plastic and the lid was falling apart.  This water bottle is like a piece of Matt - it has traveled around the world with him and was used daily - we have replaced it already with a good plastic bottle!

A Sunday Afternoon Walk

We are loving the beauty of fall!  This year seems like fall is lasting extra long...we still have lots of trees that remain green while others are brilliant shades of yellow, orange and red.

We took a little Sunday afternoon stroll today - here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Happy 24th!

I turned the big 24 this past month...while we were home we had a little ice-cream treat to celebrate - my FAVORITE!

Thankful for Friends!

I am so blessed, this Thanksgiving weekend I was able to share a brunch with three of my best friends - it was so enjoyable - I am truly thankful for these three beautiful ladies...I only wish that we didn't live a province apart!

We were thankful for Volleyball

Matthew played volleyball Fri-Sun of Thanksgiving weekend so the rest of us did a lot of cheering, waiting, sitting and more cheering.
