Let's Go On A Date: September

September weekends are a bit tied up for Matt with back to school orientation, registration, retreats, alumni weekends etc so we decided to do our September date a little early.

Date Card

we choose to hike a mountain called "The Chief" - it is a LARGE glorious mountain!

the hike is beautiful, but hard!  it is very steep - I'm still sore :)

Sully made it until about the last 20 minutes of the hike before he fell asleep - he was singing away in the carrier one second and the next was sleeping like a baby

such a great day - we are thankful that Sully is so fun to take on our dates with us :)

a Visit to Oregon

We decided to go on one last trip this summer - our destination was Oregon!  The whole Morgan clan ended up making the trip.  We had a bit of an agenda for the first half of the trip - my sister needed a little help replacing her sunroom floor and since we were there we decided to get a few more things done (pressure washing, landscaping, trim painting, gutter cleaning, light hanging, hardware changing, island building etc).

Matt and Nathan were in charge of the floor...  

Sully spent some time in this clothes basket (we needed to keep in from crawling all over the unfinished floor) watching the construction going on

we ended up working for a few days straight but we got SO SO much done!  Mom was in charge of cooking and dishes so we could just stop to eat and then keep working - we ate well!!!

don't worry there was also time for some Sully loving!

after all the work was done Nathan and Matt had to leave to get back to work and the rest of us headed to the Oregon coast for a little R&R

we had a very relaxing time!

Blackberry Season

While my parents were out I recruited them to come blackberry picking with Sully and I :)  We have a plethora of blackberry bushes around where we live - we went for a walk and picked as we walked!  

it has been a very dry, very hot summer out here - our grass is very brown!

we had a great time on our walk picking berries - we got back to the house and Sully did not want any part of the post blackberry pick photo 

it is the cutest little pouty face though isn't it?!

having a drink with Papa post pick - they are probably discussing some of life's biggest questions here :)

Summer Staff Meeting

Matt had a summer staff meeting a couple of weeks ago - it was held on our porch and complete with a supper and dessert - that's the way to have a staff meeting!
