Snow Day!

We had a lovely snow fall last week.  On Tuesday it was sunny and warm and the snow was quickly melting - Sully and I went out to play in the snow before it was gone.

the paradox of BC snow - no matter how much snow there is there is always wonderful green grass waiting under it

we made a snowman - it was PERFECT snow for snowman making

most of the snow was gone the following day - it's perfect - just enough time to enjoy it and then get back to spring :)

BCCAA Men's Volleyball Provincials

Matt's Men's Volleyball team won silver at Provincials last weekend which means they are off to Nationals in Moose Jaw this next week!
Excited for these guys - GO CATS GO!!!

Valentine's Day

This was the first Valentine's since Matt and I have been married that either I was not working and he didn't have work/volleyball that he had to go to - normally our Valentine's celebrations are low key at home events - but not this year - we celebrated on a mountain - and it was a BLAST!!!  Mom & Dad very graciously stayed home with Sully, pizza and a movie so that we could go out.

one of Sully's Auntie sent him this cute shirt in the mail - had to include both pictures - "Most Eligible Bachelor" indeed!

Sully and I made some cookies for his friends

special roses from my Valentine

our SPECIAL date night - snowshoeing on Cypress Mountain - it was both of our first times and it was SO FUN!!!

the weather was perfect - the clouds were high and the view AMAZING!

after about an hour and a half of snowshoeing through the forest we headed to a little cabin like building where there was a chocolate fondue waiting for us!

the fondue was in this cute ski lodge that was built in the early 1900's

I really liked snowshoeing - definitely will do it again!

12 years my Valentine - i LOVE him!!!

Visit from Nana & Papa

We were blessed to have Sully's Nana & Papa come visit for a week.  Matt and I had a crazy week with work and appointments - my parents were able to have some good quilatiy time with Sully.  It is such a huge help to us to be able to have a crazy week and know that Sully is in great hands with his Nana & Papa who he adores!

Thank you Nana & Papa for for all your help and for loving all of us so well - we appreciate you so much!  Sully misses you already!

Bearcat Breakfast

For the second year in a row Matt has hosted the Bearcat Breakfast - a lovely morning that show cases Bearcats Athletes and helps to raise money for athletic scholarships for the next academic year.  Matt and his team did a great job putting on the breakfast!  Martin Rennie, former head of the Vancouver Whitecaps was the guest speaker and did an awesome job!  It's fun for me to see Matt in his 'work' mode - he is so good at what he does - just another proud wife moment for me:)

Special Visitors!

I have had two special visitors come from afar in the past few weeks.  I met both these beautiful women during my time at TWU.  I am so thankful for both their friendships - we live far away and see each a couple times a year some years and then go some years without seeing each other at all, but the times that we do get to share together are so delightful - like no time has passed - that's the sign of beautiful friendships!

Kristin lives in Portland in the winters and Alaska during the summers - I was her RA during my second year of TWU and we lived in Casa de las Bonitas together in my fourth year at T-Dub.

Andrea lives in Redding, CA - we became friends during my freshman year at TWU.  We were RA's together my second year and lived together in Casa de las Bonitas during my fourth year.

Love these two friends - thankful for our 10 plus years of friendship - excited to see where life leads both of you over the next 10 years!

Family Day

B.C. had it's second annual Family Day this past Monday!  What a treat having a family day is!  We have had busy, full weekends as a family so it was such a  treat to have an extra day tacked on to a crazy weekend to spend together!  Matt and I talked about what we wanted to do for family day and we both agreed that the more low key we could keep it the better - we didn't even want to leave our house (although Matt and Sully did end up taking a quick trip to Home Depot).  We spent the day in our comfy's - playing with Sully, lounging, doing a couple home projects, playing games, playing playdough - enjoying each others company - I think we should have a family day once a month!

Below are a few pictures from our day together...

Happy Birthday Matt!

Matt's Birthday was on Thursday - he turned 28!!!  Kaminski Birthday tradition involves waking up the birthday person and giving presents while still in bed - bed hair and all :)  Matt has an early morning meeting on Thursdays so the waking up/present giving time didn't happen.  Soooo Sully and I made a special early morning trip to Matt at work - we brought him coffee and a donut for breakfast!

Thursday was game day at the gym so Matt was busy setting up when we got there - Sully enjoyed having the gym to himself!

Presents from both sets of parents

Matt works with great people - his office door was decorated with love and little notes left all over it and his athletes gave him a card

After work Sully and I took Matt out for Birthday supper

and then to LIDS for his birthday present from us

then we went home to put Sully to bed and we went out to the movies - such a blessing to have friends that babysit Sul - date nights are the BEST!

last night we finished our Birthday celebration by sharing an ice cream cake with friends :)
