Sully's Big Boy Bedroom!

With the new baby on the way it was time to reno Sully's big boy bedroom.  We had a lot of fun planning and preparing Sully's new room!

Here is the BEFORE...

And the AFTER :)

our completed to do list...

- paint walls
- replace base boards and casings
- new blinds
- make curtains
- build a new headboard
- organize and set up closet to be functional
- replace lighting
- create toy storage
- decorate!

We wanted to create a gallery wall with some of Sully's favorite things - this is what we came up with! (the empty frame will soon have a family picture in it)

On Sully's dedication day Matt and I choose a life verse for him - Joshua 1:9 - we wanted to incorporate it into his new room.

Another room done - only a few more to go :)

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

Our Christmas traditions started early this year with the packing of our Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes!  Sully was so fun this year - he motored around the store finding some awesome gifts!  We packed boxes for boys that were his similar age so he knew exactly what they would like:)

Packing up our boxes

Sully with his finished gifts!  We showed Sully on our map where the boxes go and tried to explain to him why we were packing the boxes - hoping he understood some of what we were doing :)  Trying to use teachable moments whenever possible!

Labor of Love

Our current reno project is Sully's big boy bedroom.  We are very close to being done the reno and only have a few more decor items to go.  I'm doing a gallery wall in the room - filled with Sully's favorite things - tractors, animals, sports items, planes etc.  I wanted to mount a plane on the wall but it turns out that finding a plane similar to what I was imagining in our price range was difficult!  I did however find a perfect plane - the right size and style that I wanted but it was a model - luckily I have an amazing husband that offered to help!

Matt hard at work on the plane!

this picture doesn't even do the plane justice - it came in about a million different pieces - to give you an idea - every single little window of the place had to be installed indiviually!

the finished product is AMAZING!  it took hours to finish - especially since we don't have the proper modeling tools/paint - but thankfully I have a perfectionist husband - Sully thinks it's GREAT!

Happy Halloween!

Sully was a very cute lion this year for Halloween!  We had a pretty low key day - we visited/played with friends, met up with Matt at a local mall to pick up some candy/supper and then ended the night off at CBC watching Matt's Basketball teams play their home opener!  Sully was hesitant at times to put on his costume (he wore it multiple times that day), but by the end of the day he didn't want to take it off - he would ROAR for anyone who would ask :)  Babies in costumes are the cutest things!

love this picture - can you tell they both think each other are the greatest?!

at the basketball game cheering on the Bearcats!
Happy Halloween!

3rd Annual Pumpkin Party!

We carved/crafted our pumpkins this past week with our good friends the Walls.  This is our 3rd annual Pumpkin carving night with this crew and it has been fun to watch our crew grow and enjoy this tradition together!

The men carve the big boy pumpkins and the kids get their craft on - this year it involved tissue paper and modge podge!

they seemed to really enjoy themselves!

men - hard at work!

Matt has skills!

Sully is very proud of his little pumpkin - here he is leaving the Wall's - carrying his creation to the car:)
