NICU Shower Love!

I work with the BEST people!!!  Last week the ladies of the NICU showered Sullivan and I with love! It was so fun to introduce Sully to all of his NICU Auntie's!

Can you guess what the theme of the party was?!
"hello little man"
there was a bow tie made for everyone in attendance to wear

bow tie cookies
food table - aren't those giant pom poms great?!
beautiful stats sign that is now hanging in Sully's room!
even the punch was pinteresting!!! (the straws were so festive!)
we played a game
and then came the presents...
and these Auntie's know how to give - wow - we were blessed!
a gift from my unit - a high chair for Sully!

isn't this home made card great? - we were given money to put towards a baby hiking backpack!
baby Toms!!!

and the guest list...
The Boys...Sullivan (3 weeks), Weston (2 months) & Chase (4 months)
Tanya - so happy she could come briefly before nightshift!
Trina, Kristy & Jess - came after a very busy dayshift in the NICU
and everyone else - LOVE these ladies!!!
Ev & Michelle - such special friends who also happen to be my coworkers - they were the party planners/hostess' - they know how to make a girl feel loved!

From a post a couple of weeks ago...
"I get asked a lot about my friendships--how we make it work, how we've built intimate relationships with each other and kept them. It's simple. You show up. And the big things in life like having babies? You celebrate. You let your friends know that you are well aware that moment of falling desperately in love with a child they've carried for nine months deserves one hullabaloo."

this shower was one big HULLABALOO!!!

Master Sullivan - 1 month

Sully is 1 month old today!

He brings us so much laughter and joy!

Sully is becoming more and more interactive - he ooohs and aaahs - he is just starting to smile with a purpose - he can follow objects for a short distance - he enjoys tummy time - he can lift his head up for brief moments - he is an excellent feeder and enjoys it every three hours around the clock - he is growing like crazy!

Little Nikes

I was given these little Nike shoes by a good friend before Sully was born - they looked so big to me - and now at just 4 weeks old they fit his feet!

Van Dusen Festival of Lights

We took friends of ours to the Van Dusen Festival of Lights last night - it was a magical place!  FULL of lights!!!  Very impressive - very festive!

(we forgot our camera so you will have to settle for our Iphone pics!)

I love all things Christmas!

Date Night!

This past Sunday Matt and I had our first date night since Sully has been around:)  We went to the Michael W Smith Christmas Concert - it was a delight!!!  We had a great time!  Sully had a great time too - our good friends (one half of the couple is a NICU nurse and the other a corrections officer - can you be any safer?!) watched him and loved him well!

I Love My Uncle hat - compliments of Uncle Nathan:)

Loving the lights of the tree

Kisses!

Sully's New Digs!

Wanted to post some pictures of Sullivan's room!  It was put together with many hours of love - almost everything in this room was either made or assembled by Matt or myself - call it thrifty or creative - we are very happy with how it all turned out!

We will let Sully give you a tour around...

Welcome - this picture is taken from the doorway

Bunting - sewn by mommy (with a little help from daddy - but shhhh don't tell anyone!)
Tiny Elephant Art Work - little elephants punched with love by mommy and Grandma K
Crib - assembled by daddy
Bedskirt & Crib sheet - sewn by mommy

Faux Roman Shade - sewn by mom, assembled with the help of dad
Change Pad Cover - sewn by mom
Dresser - found by Grandma & Grandpa K - beautifully redone by dad

 Pillow - sewn by mom
Chair - from mom's days in university - it just needed a new pad as the old one was flat as a pancake!
Shelves - installed by daddy (mommy told me to let everyone know that the decor on the shelves is still a bit of a work in progress...whatever that means)
Side Table - found by mommy at goodwill for 5 bucks!  redone by dad for free!
Lamp - had it for years!

Art Work - my mommy had an idea of what she wanted and my creative daddy made it happen!

Here is a little behind the scenes of what it took to make my room fantastic...

oh yes...one more thing - see that little sign on in the pic below - my parents made that too - it says all the important stuff like my name, birthday and how big I was when I was born!

I'm pretty excited about my new digs - definitely more roomy that where I was living the past 9 months!  Feel free to stop by for a visit and see my new room for yourself!

Thanks for coming along with me on my tour! - Sullivan
