Island Roadtrip!

This past weekend the Kaminski's made the trip out to BC for a visit! While they were here we decided to take a trip over to the island and stay on the coast. The weather was PERFECT the whole time.

I think this is the only picture we took on the ferry (we were too busy suntanning!)

Our place in Ukee (aka - Ucluelet) - right on the water - lovely!

We had a big two person (that managed to fit four people into) tub on the deck looking out over the water.

The view from our deck.

This picture is taken on the beach right outside of our little place. There were so many BIG starfish everywhere - very fun!

I had to hold one!

And so did Matt:)

Walking the beach near Tofino.

We took a little hike through the 'rainforest' on the coast to see this lighthouse. I have seen a few lighthouses in my time and this is the smallest one by far that I have every seen. Here I am holding it in my hands!

A little more hiking - there were some very big and uniquely shaped trees in the forest.

More hiking.

Thanks Mom and Dad Kaminski for coming to visit - we had a great time with you! Can't wait for your next visit! We love you both!

a week in Sasky

Last week Matt spent the week in Saskatchewan visiting family. The weekend he flew in Matt played in a beach volleyball tournament with Dano.

And guess he made the trip from Lloyd to watch Matt play?! Morgan, Nikki and Miss SAWYER ROSE!!! I was a little jealous that Matt got to meet Sawyer first, but also so excited that he got to meet her:) Miss these guys!

Dan and Matt went to a concert while in Saskatoon together.

Matt met up with one of his childhood friends, from Davidson, for supper. Here is Quinton with his cute little daughter.
Matt stopped by Outlook to see his Grandma Akre and her new place! Here they are in the dining room enjoying some afternoon milk and cookies:)
Matt's final leg of his Sask. tour landed him in Regina to see his Grannie and Papa Kaminski. Dad Kaminski was also there. Here are the Kaminski men posing in front of a very full dumpster containing Papa's old deck.
Matt at the Rider's stadium - he needed some Riders gear so that he can represent while living in BC!
Matt and his Grannie Kaminski on her new deck.
Matt and his cousin James!
Matt had a great time away and saw tons of people. I'm happy to have him home!

Canada's Birthday!

For Canada day this year both Matt and I had to work. I found this shirt at Old Navy and couldn't resist - I think my babies at work loved the patriotism!
Matt got home before I did and made these FANTASTIC strawberry shortcakes for dessert for friends we had over before the fireworks.
Here was are taking in the Abbotsford Canada Day fireworks. I do love fireworks no matter how big or small the show might be:)
Living somewhere else has really made us see how VERY BLESSED we are to live in such a great country!

The Past Month

Well we have been home for just over a month now and so much as happened! We have been getting lots of questions about whether or not we will continue to blog or when we were going to again...the answer is yes and now! So..let's see...back to Uganda here for a moment. We had the most fantastic send off from Africa. We felt so loved! We met some great people during our time overseas and were so blessed by them! The night before we flew out we took Meg to church for her dedication - very fitting way to end our time with her - by giving her back to God! That evening we went out for one last dinner with everyone and final good-byes. We miss our friends and babies that we left in Uganda!

Here we are coming off the plane back into civilization:)

We had a one week layover in London, England in between Uganda and home. It was a great week full of relaxation and touring.
My parents and Nathan met up with us in England (we missed Becca - she had to stay in the states and work!) - it was great to spend time as a family.
We arrived back to Canada in May...and the first morning we were there we woke up to this...

We spent almost two weeks in AB and SK visiting friends and family. Ezra was born two days before we left for Uganda so I had to wait 8 months to finally meet him...so worth the wait!

We travelled down to Outlook for a day to see Matt's Grandma. We were blessed to have to many family members travel to Lloyd to see us - fun to be able to catch up with so many people and share peices of our expiernce with them.

After our time at home we travelled back out to Abbotsford to set up house. We arrived in Abby on Friday and both started working on Monday morning. So we got possesion of our place, moved, bought grocerices and then started work - a bit of a crazy time:)

May 24 was our second anniversary! My wonderful husband surprised me by taking me for an overnight at Semiahmoo Resort in the states. It was a wonderful time at a beautiful resort right on the ocean!
I LOVE this man! Life is such a treat to be able to live it with him!

Since we have been home we have been borrowing my parents car as we searched for our own new wheels. We final found a wonderful little SUV for a great price. We are the proud new owners of a 2007 Jeep Compass!

It's a perfect little SUV for us. We bought it the night we were going to the Eagles concert in Vancvouer - so much excitement all in one day!

Otherwise we have been busy working and seeing so many wonderful people that we missed while we were away. It's good to be home, but we sure to miss Uganda:)
