Matt's 30th Birthday!

Matt turned the big 3-0 this past weekend and so we celebrated!

We started his birthday weekend off with fresh cinnamon buns.

Next it was present time. (Sully had painted the box for his dad)

Presents included a bread maker (Matt has wanted one for years!) and a cheque to go buy a belly boat - he was a happy guy!

Heading out for birthday supper!

 at the resturant

after supper we came home and had cake.

The next morning Matt and I headed off on a little overnight trip.  Matt didn't have any idea where we were going and what we were going to do.  It was very fun.

Our first stop was Shannon Falls (we are the nerdy couple with matching jackets - Go Bearcats!)

Then we drove just up the road and hopped on the Sea to Sky Gondola.

It was cloudy so the view wasn't as good as it could have been, but we still enjoyed our time.

On the suspension bridge.

We hiked around in the snow

Then we headed into Squamish to our hotel room to watch the Super Bowl.  Later that evening we headed out for supper at a local restaurant called 'The Howe Sound Brewery' - it was very yummy!

The next morning we drove up to Whistler to go to the Scandinavian Spa...it was GLOREOUS!!!  It is an outdoor spa - filled with hot pools, sauna, steam room etc.  It is a silent spa...which is both very weird and very awesome all at the same time.  You literally can not speak when you are in the spa area  - when we first got there I thought I'm not going to last, but it was SO REFRESHING to experience quiet.

We took a break midway through our day and got a coffee in their cafe - we were able to talk in the cafe so we caught up on all our thoughts before heading back into the spa.

Post massages...sooooo good!

Happy Birthday to my favorite human!  What a special treat to be able to have some time away just the two of us to celebrate Matt's 30 years of life!  We are so thankful to my parents for staying with the boys so we could be away!  Excited to experience the next 30 years with this guy!
