We have a wonderful tradition going for us on American Thanksgiving! Becca has come to visit us for the past four years over American Thanksigivng weekend and this is Nathan's second year making the trip - what a treat it is for us!
Both Becca and Nathan flew in on Thursday - that evening we enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving feast!
after we stuffed ourselves full - it was tree time
we started a new tradition this year...we gave Sully his new Christmas PJ's on the eve of American Thanksgiving - kind of the kick off to the Christmas season!
the next morning we were up bright and early to attend the Toys for Tots fundraiser at a local hotel in town. toys and money were being collected for our local food bank - it was a great event!
Sully was a big fan of the fire trucks (they were on sight with the firemen to collect all the toys!)
eating breakfast with live musical entertainment
Santa was also on site (I love Santa's face in this picture - he looks shocked)
all the toys collected
after the fundraiser we headed home to play with Auntie and Uncle
Matt stayed home with a napping Sully and the rest of us braved the "Black Friday" crowds - we ended up coming home with some new games :) they had to be played...
take note of Sully's shirt :)
that evening we went out for a nice supper - such a treat!
Saturday evening we went to a tree lighting ceremony at the new mall in Abbotsford...it was pouring rain but we bundled up and headed out.
waiting for the parade to start...in the pouring rain
Santa made an appearance
waiting for the tree to be lit
the tree - we actually ended up missing the big lighting and "snow" fall - but Sully enjoyed the big tree and live music - he was dancing away like no one was watching!
after standing in the rain we came home to warm up, eat javanese, play games and end the evening watching Elf!
we had such a great weekend - we are so thankful that our family is willing to make the long treks to come and see us!
we love you Auntie Becca & Uncle Nathan - can't wait till next year!!!
