Our bathroom reno started out as being a let's just change out the tile, flooring & paint and call it a day, but when we actually looked closer at the bathroom we found water damage and a entire bathroom overhaul needed to happen!
Before we started anything Matt and I spent an evening in the bathroom with Pinterest and a notebook - jotting down ideas and dreams.
and here are some before and after pictures...
our completed to do list...
- rip out old tub, toilet, flooring & tile - deal with water damage
- replace drywall
- add board and batten
- paint walls
- install mirror
- replace counter top & sink
- new toilet
- new tub with wood beam legs
- new lighting
- new knobs & bathroom accessories (toilet paper holder & towel hooks and bar)
- decorate!
*the pictures on the wall are of magnolias close to our house - Matt took the pics this spring - they are gorgeous!
*the chandelier was a steal as it was originally brass - it's amazing what a coat of spray paint will do
*the tub was a find off craigslist - it came with all it's original pieces - including it's claw feet, but after a rowdy house guest :) one of the legs broke and so Matt built these beautiful wooden beams that the tub sits perfectly in!
*the mirror & sink were cheap restore finds
*the counter top is actually the top piece from our old kitchen table - Matt did a great job of refinishing it!
*Matt also built me a beverage/book table that sits on the tub - it's perfect!
We love our new bathroom - it's a perfect place for a good soak and relax at the end of the day!

With water damage all over your bathroom, a major renovation is the best solution, to make sure that every damage has been removed and changed with high quality materials. Anyhow, this might be a sudden change of plan, but it turns out to be a much wiser decision. Cheers!
